Discover resources and support to help either yourself or someone you know who is experiencing image based abuse or “revenge porn”.
Image based abuse
“‘Revenge porn’ or image-based abuse is when someone shares, or threatens to share, an intimate photo or video of you without your consent. It’s still image-based abuse if it’s a screenshot or recording of a live chat (sometimes known as capping), or a meme, or even a fake or deep fake that has been edited to look like you. Image-based abuse is never OK, and if it’s happened to you it’s not your fault.” – eSafety Excerpt 2024
You can report image-based abuse and get help.

Reporting online content
You can play an important part in helping a friend if someone shares or threatens to share an intimate image or video. They need non-judgemental support, so letting them know you’re there to listen and support them getting help can make a big difference.
You can report image-based abuse and get help by contacting the eSafety commissioner here. If image-based abuse has occurred through an online platform or service you can contact them directly. See below for common platforms reporting process.
